The Decoy Museum
As a small non-profit institution, the DECOY MUSEUM relies upon the important contributions of our volunteer corps. Whether you are interested in assisting the curator, hosting tours, or performing administrative duties, the museum offers an opportunity to meet new people, share your wisdom, and enhance your own knowledge while contributing to our community. Volunteer opportunities available are admissions desk attendant, gift shop clerk, docent, education assistant, special events assistant, and office assistant. To join the museum's volunteer program or obtain more information, please visit the museum at 215 Giles Street or call 410-939-3739.

Volunteers play an important part at the MARITIME MUSEUM. The SKIPJACK MARTHA LEWIS, under the management of the Chesapeake Heritage Conservancy, Inc., is seeking volunteers in a variety of areas. You could be First Mate if you pass the requirements, or maybe you'd like to be a deckhand and assist with line handling, raising sail, etc. The Martha Lewis needs volunteers to act as docents, handle ticket sales, serve as hosts, or be part of the teaching crew. Other volunteer opportunities include help with fund raising, publication and mailing of the newsletter, working a booth during the annual bull roast, office help, serving on the Education Committee, or assisting with programs on shore such as Art, Tales & Sail. Susquehanna Museum of HdG
Volunteering is easy at the SUSQUEHANNA MUSEUM OF HAVRE DE GRACE AT THE LOCK HOUSE. A volunteer's interests and skills are matched with the Museum's needs. Volunteers are needed with basic home repair skills, secretarial skills, computer skills to help with collections, interest in learning to be a docent, or working in the gift shop. The Lock House is currently looking for a special person with a project management background and a person who can do chair caning. A diverse selection of interests can be accommodated, so please call 410-939-5780 to volunteer.
The Concord Point Lighthouse / O'neil House
The Lighthouse is Havre de Grace's most visible museum, is seeking both member and non-member volunteers. Active members assist in funding basic maintenance and operation, and these members serve as officers, board members, and committee members. They participate in special tasks such as spring cleaning, preparation for weekend visitors, and decorating for the annual candlelight tour, as well as serving as host keepers in the lighthouse tower, docents in the keeper's house, or salespeople in the gift shop. They also act as guides for special tours such as school/youth groups, senior citizens, travel groups, and special visitors. Non-member volunteers assist with all of these functions. No special skill, talent, or knowledge is needed, other than an interest in Havre de Grace and its history, and training is provided. If you would like to be a part of this vital group, please call the lighthouse coordinator at 410-939-0768. The lighthouse is open from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday from April through October.
