INVITATION TO BID
WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS, PHASE III
October 24th, 2008 - Sealed bids in duplicate, addressed to the Director of Public Works, and marked "Bid for Water System Improvements, Phase III" will be received at the office of the Director of Public Works, City of Havre de Grace, 711 Pennington Avenue, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078, until 2:00 pm local time on December 5, 2008.
The work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, cleaning and cement mortar lining of approximately 4500 linear feet of eight, six and four inch water main.
Contract Documents may be examined in the office of the City of Havre de Grace, 711 Pennington Avenue, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Copies may be obtained upon payment of $10.00 (non-refundable).
Contract Documents will be mailed to those requesting this service for and additional $5.00.
NONDISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT
BIDDERS ON THIS WORK WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE PRESIDENT'S EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 11246. THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BIDDERS AND CONTRACTORS UNDER THIS ORDER ARE EXPLAINED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS.
NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT FOR CERTIFICATION OF NONSEGREGATED FACILITIES
Bidders and Offerors are cautioned as follows: By signing this Bid or Offer, the Bidder or Offeror will be deemed to have signed and agreed to the provision of the "Certification of Nonsegregated Facilities" in this solicitation. The certification provides that the Bidder of Offeror does not maintain or provide for his employees facilities which are segregated on a basis of race, creed, color, or national origin, whether such facilities are segregated by directive or on a de facto basis. The certification also provides that he will not maintain such segregated facilities. Failure of a Bidder of Offeror to agree to the Certification of Nonsegregated Facilities will render his Bid or Offeror to agree to the Certification of Nonsegregated Facilities will render his Bid or Offer non-responsive to the terms of solicitation involving awards of contracts exceeding $10,000 which are not exempt from the provision of the Equal Opportunity clause.
The right is reserved to reject any or all bids. The City of Havre de Grace reserves the right to make any decisions regarding this project that is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Havre de Grace.
