Wayne H. Dougherty

Wayne moved to Havre de Grace in 1961 when his dad was transferred to Aberdeen Proving Grounds. Wayne is married to the former Mary Marini and they have a son, Joseph, and daughter, Maria who is married to J.W. Walker, Jr. Wayne graduated from Havre de Grace High School and has a degree in Criminal Justice as well as a Banking Degree from the American Institute of Banking. Wayne has been involved in his community and has served on many Boards and Commissions.

Wayne's commitment to the City of Havre de Grace has been continuous for many years and he takes the position of Mayor of Havre de Grace as a full time job. Wayne supports the many businesses in our City and is always available to help citizens when called upon to do so. Wayne seeks no credit for being a citizen who endeavors to make and provide a better quality of life for all who live and visit our City. Wayne has pride in the City he lives in and supports and actively participates in cultural awareness and sensitivity programs to promote a harmonious relationship between all citizens in our City.

Wayne's vision is simple: "A safe community for all our citizens and visitors to our City. Protect and promote our history with the implementation of zoning laws which will protect our historic structures and a strong Economic Development Plan which will benefit all citizens and our local businesses and merchants."

PRESIDENT
Stephen J. Gamatoria

"Steve" was elected to the City Council in May 2006. Steve was born and reared in Havre de Grace, where he has remained involved in his community. Steve was an active participant in the Havre de Grace Youth Soccer program, as well as the Soccer Coach at Havre de Grace High School. Steve has also been a member of the Susquehanna Hose Company Inc. since 1978, where he has held positions including First and Second Assistant Fire Chief, Vice President and Board Member. Steve also serves as Secretary and Board Member of the "Community Projects of Havre de Grace Inc., a non profit organization whose mission is to raise funds for community projects within the City of Havre de Grace. In 2000, Steve and his wife Pattie established the Charles C. Gamatoria Academic/Athletic Scholarship, which is presented annually at Havre de Grace High School.

Steve, his wife Pattie reside in Havre de Grace, adjacent to the beautiful Concord Point Lighthouse, along with their son Steven Jr. (a student at West Virginia University), and father Charlie.

Steve currently serves as Chairman of Administrative Committee and is a member of the Public Safety Committee.

"My messege is simple, don't stay on the sidelines, come in and get involved... there is a place for you. As citizens, we have no choice, but to be part of the process. It's our responsibility... In the grand scheme of things, we are only here to enjoy what is in front of us for such a short period of time. We must seize every oppprtunity, so as to make it better for those who will follow."

CITY COUNCIL MEMBER
Garrett L. Lyttle

Wayne was born August 6, 1946 in Baltimore and raised in Baltimore County. I have been married for 35 years to my wife Doris who is an Elementary School teacher in Baltimore County. Doris and I have two children and four grandchildren. Recently retired after 37 years in business the last fifteen years were spent with the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum as the Visitors Service Manager and head of Retail Operations. I am a Vietnam Veteran serving there from 1967 to 1969. I have been a resident of Havre de Grace for the last twelve years and enjoy everything about the city.

Garrett currently serves as Chairman of the Planning Committee, is a member of the Department of Public Works and Special Events Committees and Liaison to the Museum Alliance.

CITY COUNCIL MEMBER
James P. Miller

"Jim" was previously appointed to the Havre de Grace City Council and has served on the Planning Commission, the Street Safety Committee, the Board of Appeals, and the Housing Authority. Currently, he is serving on the Planning Committee. He is an active member of the Susquehanna Hose Company and has held various elected positions. Jim attended Harford Community College and completed several classes from the University of Maryland. He is currently employed as a Physical Science Technician at Aberdeen Proving Ground for the Army's 22nd Chemical Command. He served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and in Iraq as part of the Iraq Survey Group. He is a member of the Son's of the American Legion - Joesph L. Davis Post #47, the Knights of Columbus - Havre de Grace Council #2002, and Saint Patrick's Church. Jim has been a resident of Havre de Grace his entire life along with his daughter, Terran Miller.

CITY COUNCILMEMBER
Joseph Kochenderfer

Joe Kochenderfer was first elected to City Council in 1990, re-elected in 1992,1994, and 1996, again in 2000 and most recently in 2007. He served as Council President for three years and President of Cecil-Harford Chapter of Maryland Municipal League from 1992-1993. He also servedas member of HDeG Planning Commission for over 20 years, seven as Chairman.

Born (1934) and raised in Lewistown, PA. Upon completing secondary education there, and serving two years in the US Army, received a BA in mathematics from Gettysburg College in 1958. After relocating to Maryland in 1959, moved with family to HDG in 1961 where he and Sara raised four children and now have six grandchildren. Retired from the Ballistic Research Laboratories as a mathematician/manager in the field of projectile flight analysis at APG after 30 years' service.

Community activities: Boy Scout Troop 967; steward of North Park Loop Trail; Parks & Recreation - chairman girl's softball program 6 years, youth soccer coach 5 years, youth basketball coach 3 years; organizations - Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House, HDeG Decoy Museum, HDeG Maritime Museum, Chesapeake Heritage Conservancy, Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway, HDeG Heritage Corridor Management Council, Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Association

Vision for City: To be a community which offers a good family life, exudes a small town ambiance, is an environmentally sensitive community, has pride in its historic and cultural assets, and is a good place to do business.

CITY COUNCILMEMBER
Barbara Ferguson

Barbara was first elected to the City Council in May 2001-2003. Barbara's second term was 2003-2005. Barbara is now serving her third term in 2007. Barbara moved to Havre de Grace with her parents in 1951. She has worked for Department of Defense since 1973.

Barbara, her husband Howard, and their son Alonzo live in Grace Harbor. Barbara currently serves as Vice President to Grace Harbor Homeowners Association.

Barbara is Chairperson of the Public Safety Committee and a member of the Administrative Committee. She is liaison to the, Fire Department, Ambulance Corps, Police Department and Street and Traffice Safety Advisory Board. Other committees Barbara serves on are Parks and Marina Committee, Administrative Committee. Barbara is also liaison to the Economic Development Advisory Board.

My vision for Havre de Grace is to maintain and improve community livability by working with all citizens to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect our property, and promote individual responsibility. I would like your help in meeting these goals and objectives we've set to carry out our mission and make Havre de Grace a better place to live.

Randolph Emerson Craig

"Randy" was born and raised in Havre de Grace. As a youth he was involved in local sports and many community organizations. As a local boy scout, Randy achieved the level of Eagle Scout. Randy learned the importance of public service at an early age, as exampled by his father and grandfather who have both held elected positions.

After graduation from Havre de Grace High School, Randy served in the U.S. Navy. While a young sailor with a homeport in California, Randy met his future wife, Jessica. Following their marriage they returned to Maryland where she attended law school and he attended the University of Maryland.

Randy is employed as a Senior Project Manager for Erickson Construction. He is responsible for the management of multi-million dollar construction projects. Jessica recently left her position as an Assistant Public Defender in Harford County to stay at home to care for their young children. Randy and Jessica have been married for nine years and have three children. The Craig family lives on Ontario Street where they are renovating a Victorian style home. They attend the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church, where Randy serves on the Board of Trustees.

"For our present and future citizens, I will make certain that city government acts in an ethical and responsible manner and with a forward-looking vision that creates long-lasting value. I pledge to serve our community honestly and to humbly do what is right."
