Additional Updates will be forthcoming.
BRAC is Here.
Many businesses and residents of this region have heard about the economic impact of BRAC. We are experiencing it NOW. As of May 2010 1,700 new positions are now in place at Aberdeen Proving Ground. 50% of these positions were filled with relocated persons, and of those who relocated to this area 80% chose Harford County as their new home. By October 2010, APG will absorb another 1,400 positions.

Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC)
On November 9, 2005 President Bush approved recommendations submitted by the U.S. Department of Defense which proposed the realignment of military bases throughout America. Aberdeen Proving Ground was a major recipient of military functions and with the closings and realignment of other military bases around the Country. Harford County has become a great beneficiary of these jobs aimed at supporting the American war fighter.
What does this mean for Havre de Grace Maryland?
We are uniquely positioned to support the growth as a result of BRAC. Havre de Grace has over 2,500 buildable residential lots and the infrastructure to support this growth. Havre de Grace can support the mission of the Army by being a prime location for defense contractors, medical uses, and support services.
