  • Provide opportunities for public participation in the planning process for new development through Planning Commission and Board of Appeals meetings
Development Services
  • Administer and maintain the City's Building, Zoning and development Codes & Provide technical assistance to applicants in the permit application process
Inspections
  • Administer the building permit and plan review process and applicable fees, Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with building and property maintenance codes for the safety and health of the public, etc.

Rental Registration

Department of Public Works

Ask for DPW Administration between the hours of 8 AM to 4:30 PM

AFTER HOURS only- contact for public works related emergencies such as a sewer backup; water leak, downed trees, etc. Call the Police Department 410 939 2121 only in case of an emergency.
Please note, for water leaks and sweer backup's, property owners should ALWAYS contact the City before contacting a plumber.

Functions
The Department of Public Works is responsible for the establishment, maintenance and operation of the City's infrastructure and facilities including:
  • water and wastewater treatment plants
  • parks, streets, sidewalks, sewer stoppages, trees, water main breaks, storm water collection systems
  • solid waste and recycling
  • public land and buildings
