Trash, Recycles, Yard Waste, Metal Items
Regular household trash pickup: One day per week Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays. Normal household waste only. No yard waste or metal items larger than a tin can. All containers need to be placed outside no earlier than 6pm the night before your collection day and returned to your home by 6pm the day of collection.Recycle Thursdays: Collections Citywide Recycles are not to be put out with regular household trash. Recycle containers must be clearly marked with a Curbside Recycling Sticker (available at City Hall) or marked with a large "X" on the side of the can.
Yard Waste Fridays: Collections year round. Yard waste is grass clippings, hedge and tree trimmings, branches and leaves. Branches must be tied in bundles not longer than 4 ft, not wider than 2 ft, not over 50 pounds in weight and should be over 5 inches round.
Metal Items Wednesdays: Schedule for pick up. Call DPW at 410-939-1800 x1130 by Tuesday at 2:00pm.
We collect: stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, hot water heaters, metal lawn furniture, metal poles, grills.
We do not collect: items such as old furniture, mattresses, TVs or building debris.
Items can be disposed of during the City's Annual Clean-up Days, or you can take items to Harford Waste Disposal Center (Scarboro Landfill) located at 3135 Scarboro Rd., Street, MD, Ph. 410-638-3018, or you can contact a private hauler for removal.We do not collect: items such as old furniture, mattresses, TVs or building debris.
